7. English
English is a class that teaches me valuable lesson for when I'm in high school and in college. It's important to learn excellent grammar and spelling. The teacher is Mrs. Hill and she is an engaging teacher. We do a lot on the computers these days and will be getting iPads soon. What we are doing in English at the moment is a Weebly which I guess you know of because you are reading these words at the moment. It is a blog you post and it also teaches you about what to put on the internet and what you should not put on it. Earlier, we did a project about different computer uses. We studied digital communication. This is the way to communicate over the internet like emails and IM. Other people studied digital security and digital law. We produce many projects in the class and I really enjoy that.

*Persuasive Writing: To begin writing persuasively, we learned how to
effectively argue. We discussed different cases, such as wearing armbands to
school and wearing band t-shirts to school. I learned that persuading people can really change the view of how the person is thinking of an event. Eventually, I chose my own topic in order to write a persuasive essay. My main argument was that the LA Lakers are the best NBA basketball team of this season.
*Blue Ribbon Ceremony: I chose someone
that made a positive difference in my life. In preparation for the Blue Ribbon
Ceremony, I decorated a blue ribbon, wrote a 6-word memoir about my guest, and
constructed a paragraph describing why and how my guest impacted my life in a
positive way. I got to present my guest with these artifacts at the Blue Ribbon
Ceremony on Friday, November 16, 2012. My favorite part of this activity
was writing all the wonderful compliments you have for the person and the anticipation for when your are going to tell them that you nominated them.

December 2012
The business I chose for this project is Cabin Coffee Company. My group and I were able to interview Brad Barber on December 8th, 2012. One of the most interesting things I learned from the interview was that Clear Lake really wanted and needed a coffee shop because the second day they were open, they were packed with people. I am looking forward to presenting my documentary about Cabin Coffee when it is finished to Brad Barber and to the town of Clear Lake.
